8. Operation and System Construction of the Hybrid Lagoon System.

The hybrid lagoon system of waste water treatment as a rule uses only a single basin, and endlessly repeats the cycle of receiving water to be treated, aeration, sedimentation, and discharge of supernatant water. It is a SB-type activated sludge method (of non-continuous processing).

As waste water is treated in a single basin, there is no need for a final sedimentation basin or returned sludge device as there is in continuous activated sludge methods; consequently, facilities are extremely simple, few devices and instruments are required, and plumbing and electrical systems are also uncomplicated. The hybrid lagoon system enables high-level processing, and the three stages of ordinary processing are all carried out in a single basin, which is used as a secondary and tertiary processing facility as well.
